Grow Your Audience
Discover email tools that help you build meaningful connections, automate your outreach, and drive results to your inbox.

Email marketing remains one of the most effective ways to reach and engage with customers. Here are some of Terri’s favorite tools for doing so.

Kit (formerly ConvertKit)
This is our favorite email service provider (ESP) and the one we use to send out the weekly SOLO newsletter (you are a subscriber, right?).  It’s filled with powerful capabilities, including intuitive email automation, visual workflows, and powerful tagging for segmentation.  If you’re just starting, their expanded free plan (up to 10,000 subscribers!) is a great launchpad — and a top choice for solopreneurs, bloggers, and content-driven businesses.

MailChimp
This was our previous ESP, and it remains a solid contender. It balances ease of use with automation, analytics, and e-commerce integrations. It’s good for small businesses who want modern templates, analytics, and a free plan (up to 500 contacts) to get started.

Flodesk
Flodesk stands out with its beautifully designed email templates and simple, flat-rate pricing model — no confusing tiers or subscriber limits. While it lacks advanced automation and analytics, its intuitive interface and unlimited emails make it a popular choice for design-focused solopreneurs (with very enthusiastic fans).

Constant Contact
Years ago we used Constant Contact, and we continue to be impressed with its capabilities in email and SMS marketing. It’s known for its user-friendly interface and event management tools.

ActiveCampaign
Several friends use Active Campaign to achieve sophisticated marketing results from CRM integration and predictive AI-driven automation. It has a steeper learning curve and is designed for teams a bit larger than solopreneurs — but we’ll always cheer on a Chicago-based company!
